We’ve arranged photos of some of the plants we can grow here in the Pacific Northwest by the time of year they bloom or grow (some bloom in more than one season). Do you know the names of all these plants? See how many you can name!
All plants have botanical names. Some plants also have common names, which are the names most people know them by. Can you guess the common names of these plants by their photos?
Print out this fun plant memory game to play at home! Print two sets of the images and cut them into squares. Lay them all out face up and take a good look. Now turn the squares over so you can’t see the images. Each person takes a turn by flipping over one square, then trying to remember which other square has the same image underneath. If you match two squares, you get to keep them and continue your turn. If not, the next person takes a turn. At the end, the person with the most pairs wins!
In honor of our dinosaur, Humphrey the Apatosaurus, we collected some fun dinosaur-themed activities, including mazes, puzzles, find the differences, and a word search. Enjoy!
